We are proud to publish the first artist’s catalogue by German sculptor Emilia Neumann.
»In her spatial sculpture one perceives an intense reflection on the duality or coexistence of positive/negative, inside/outside, distance/proximity, and entirety/detail. She opens the mass of form by setting the modules up in pairs, offering it to us as a narrative. The time factor, which belongs to the narrative as it appeared in the kinetic sculpture of the 1960s, is present in several ways: in the metamorphosis of the casting and the casting mould as well as in the route to be taken. The conquest of this space with moulds made from plaster cannot only be described as an installation. It is an environment in which the visitors become part of the exhibition, together with the sculpture.« __Isa Bickmann, Heap of Debris, 2019
